What is Semantic SEO?

SEO is getting harder every year. Every day, more and more content is racing to become valuable in organic search results.

So, how can our website stand out more in search results?

It is simple: By focusing on Semantic SEO.

Semantic SEO is all about delivering the most precise results by translating the user intent behind the entire phrase or search query. The end result should answer the question of the user rather than showing irrelevant results.

For Example, when i search Apple vs Banana, i dont expect to see Iphones and banana peels in my search results, but rather a comparison between the two fruits, like the one below:

    Apple vs Banana Search

    Semantic SEO

Semantic SEO is the process of giving more meaning to the words you use in the SEO-compatible content you create for your website.

Optimizing search engines using semantics requires building a content network that makes sense for every entity within a topic. Semantic SEO is all about connecting terms, entities, and facts in a way that is both factually correct and relevant in terms of relationships.

The goal of this approach is to better satisfy the user’s search intent by using meanings and topics rather than individual words and to serve as the go-to resource for both the search engine as well as the user.

Google is indeed a semantic popular search engine because it uses artificial intelligence to make inferences about the context of queries, classify search results, and organize data from across the web.

Consequently, it is crucial for Semantic Search Engine and Semantic SEO to develop a pre-existing structure and content with strongly connected entities.

In contrast to individually generated content, the user experience provided by Semantic SEO is well-planned. Google and other search engines focus on a single vertical, and it can ensure that the user always finds results that are relevant to their query.

The credibility that search history structured data provides, along with the extensive query profile, may help the company improve its ranking and visibility in networks of related topics.

    What does Semantic Content mean?

Semantic content is to make the content semantically detailed by explaining many related titles and topics in the content created.

Creating semantic content means not just answering a simple query, but optimizing based on the true intent of your users. When creating semantic content, means answering the first question and then immediately answering the second, third, fourth, or fifth question.

Doing so gives your content more depth and adds more value to your content. Google prefers to direct users to pages where they can find exactly what they are looking for.

What Does Semantic Content Mean for SEO?

Content created with semantic compatibility gives us a chance to rank higher for more keywords than the keywords we focus on.

It also allows us to stay in that position for a longer time once we achieve a good ranking on one of these keywords.

While keyword ranking is not sustainable over a long period of time, we can earn traffic from these keywords.

In fact, Google’s algorithm actively shows us what users are searching for when trying to match search results with queries.

To understand this, all we have to do is look at the information Google gives us for search engine optimization.

We may use this information to create and deliver more relevant content.

    Writing Content Using Semantic SEO

Semantic Content involves finding the deeper meaning of why users are searching for a query and using these elements strategically in our writing when creating content.

You can explore these elements to create your content using the tips that Google provides within the SERPs.

Google’s “relevant to search” and “people also ask” sections are opportunities in this area.

Content that includes the deeper meaning of the queries will help you increase your web pages’ popularity in organic search and increase traffic.

When creating content, ask yourself: After the user knows the answer to their query, what additional questions will arise after that answer and how will they continue to learn new queries in a single context?

Google’s Search Algorithm also tries to predict the next query, so thinking like a search engine will help you figure out what to do.

Start with Traditional Keyword Research Methods

You can use any keyword research tool you feel comfortable with. I use Semrush’s Keyword Planner Tool.

Choose a topic related to your business or website and create content about it.

Example: In this article, we wrote about Semantic SEO. Moreover, we focused on answering possible questions such as “What is Semantic Seo?”, “What is Semantic Content?”, “How to Create Semantic Content?”.

When creating content, as in the example, after the user finds an answer to the first query, the question “How can you handle additional problems?” arises. You can start creating your content plan by paying attention to these additional points.

How to Extract Semantic Information from Google?

    When creating a content plan;

1- From the headings in Google’s “Users Also Searched” field,

Searching "daisy tea benefits" in Google

2- From the suggestions below when we start to enter a query in the search bar,

    Searching "daisy" in Google Search

3- You can use one of the popular topics in Google trends.

If you want to use Google Trends more effectively while creating content, you can also check our article “How to Use Google Trends?“.

When we put all these assumptions together, we get a Semantic-compatible content structure for informative and high-value content.

    AlsoAsked.com

AlsoAsked offers a service that allows us to see what other queries are potentially searched by users in the form of a search tree after their main search.

For example: Let’s search for “What is search engine optimization?”.

Using the headings related to our content from the resulting search query tree, we can create our Semantic-compatible content structure.

Semantic SEO Helps You Rank in the SERP

It is very valuable for us that the content we create is ranked zero. Being in this area allows us to gain a position even above the first rank.

While getting the top rank in organic search is great, being visible before number one is even more advantageous.

Also, since our content will take up a large amount of space in the form of an image and a paragraph when we are in position zero, perhaps users may not even bother to scroll down far enough for the next posts to get an answer to their query.

Therefore, it gives us a plus point to get ahead of our competitors indirectly.

    The Value of Semantic SEO

Contents that are compatible with Semantic SEO contain semantic depth, following criteria such as providing value, creating relevance, and thinking about new problems your users will encounter.

As a result, Semantic compatible content will be considered more relevant and more useful by search engines than other posts.

In this way, it will help us to maintain our position for a long time once we have a valuable high rank in the search engine results.
